The great Whore of Babylon, why do Heretics always overlook the facts?

I grew up believing the Catholic Church was the whore of babylon and most of the other lies told about Catholics and our Church. But if all these so endowed with special understanding as they like to claim from the Holy Spirit would read the writings of the ante Nicene Fathers they would learn the early Church fathers believed it was Jerusalem that John was alluding to as it was Jerusalem where Christ died and many of the earliest Christians. God has indeed the way i see it closed the eyes of those who are attacking his Church.
