Is it wrong to disagree with the Church?

I've been a Catholic all of my life and, while my mother seems to accept everything the church says as set in stone, I have my doubts. I don't understand how simply because the Church says something is "dogma" that means I must believe it lest I wish to go to hell. Unless something has very clear textual evidence taken from the Bible, I don't understand how anything can be absolutely true. I'd like not to hear how the Church is absolutely right on everything or abut Papal Infallibility. My mother told me she believes the Holy Spirit talks to the Pope. If we're going along those lines, did the Holy Spirit tell the Pope to start the Spanish inquisition? And did the Holy Spirit guide Rodrigo Borgia (Pope Alexander the 6th) to do some of the awful things he did? What the Church, at least to me, seems to have difficulty understanding is that all men are sinners, even them. Saying that the Pope is infallible is saying that he is incapable of commiting sin, which is a contradiction since, as we've established, all men are sinners. So, back to my question, is it wrong to disagree with the Church? I still believe that Jesus died for us and all of the "important" stuff.
